Books For Africa has been awarded its ninth consecutive 4-star rating by Charity Navigator. This is the highest possible ranking, and reflects BFA’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

Books For Africa supporters were honored to be hosted by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison on Tuesday, August 25, at his Minnesota State Capitol office.

In 2020, Books For Africa aims to ship our 50 millionth book to Africa! Please join us in celebrating at our Virtual Global Celebration on September 24th, featuring a keynote address by the Ambassador of Ghana to the U.S.!

BFA was pleased to get some photos and feedback from a Girls Empowerment Collection that recently arrived in South Africa in the hands of Xoli Fuyani (pictured at left). We also heard from recipient Rethabile Sonibare, who let us know that the books are being distributed just in time for Women’s Month in South Africa!

Former Tanzanian President Benjamin Mpaka passed away on Friday, July 24. Not only was President Mpaka a one-time ambassador to the U.S. and a two-term leader from 1995 to 2005, he was also a friend and supporter of Books For Africa.
