Out of Print Funds BFA Shipment to Ghana in Honor of Ghanaian Ambassador

At a March 4th reception honoring Books For Africa at the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Washington D.C., Jeff LeBlanc and Todd Lawton (at right) announced the funding of a 40-foot shipment of BFA books to Ghana in honor of His Excellency Daniel Ohene Agyekum, Ghana’s Ambassador to the U.S. (at left). LeBlanc and Lawton are co-founders of Out of Print (www.outofprintclothing.com), a company in New York that sells T-shirts and e-reader jackets featuring iconic book covers. Botswana Book Project Distributes BFA Books to 107 Schools and Charities

Pam Shelton and her colleagues at the Botswana Book Project sorted and distributed over 28,000 BFA books in southern Botswana in September 2010. The books were given to teachers, Peace Corps Volunteers, and representatives from Rotary clubs, hospitals and clinics, and multiple charities, such as Kagisano Society Woman's Shelter Project. Another BFA Shipment of Books and Computers Arrives at PEN Trust in Tanzania

A 40-foot container of BFA books arrived this week in Tanzania for PEN Trust, a longtime partner of Books For Africa. Nine pallets of books and school supplies and 40 computers from this shipment were delivered to St. Peter Claver High School in Ihumwa, just outside of Dodoma.
