From a Container to Classrooms: 30,799 Books Reach Students in Rural Kenya

A shipment of books from Books For Africa has been transformed into a powerful literacy initiative across Bomet County, Kenya, delivering educational resources directly into the hands of students and teachers.

Impact Beyond Delivery

The project successfully moved thousands of books from international shipment to classroom access, supporting schools across Bomet County with resources in science, mathematics, literature, history, geography, religion, and leisure reading. 

A Deeper Lesson

The initiative revealed that improving literacy requires more than books alone. Many schools identified needs for library spaces, resource management systems, shelving, ICT access, and ongoing reading programs to help students fully benefit from the materials.
