Mandela Fellows Volunteer at Books For Africa Warehouse, Helping Advance Literacy Across Africa
Books For Africa recently welcomed Mandela Fellows to its warehouse for a hands-on volunteer experience, bringing together emerging African leaders and a shared commitment to expanding access to education and literacy across the continent.
During their visit, the fellows rolled up their sleeves to help sort, organize, and prepare donated books for shipment to communities in Africa. Their time at the warehouse offered an opportunity to see firsthand how donated books make their way from generous supporters in the United States to students, educators, libraries, and communities across Africa.
The visit highlighted the important connection between education, leadership, and community service. By volunteering alongside the Books For Africa team, the fellows experienced the work that goes into collecting, processing, and shipping books that help create opportunities for learning.
Books For Africa is proud to support the next generation of African leaders and grateful for the fellows' enthusiasm, energy, and commitment to making a difference. Their participation reflects the power of collaboration in advancing literacy and creating brighter futures through education.
Every book packed and every container shipped represents another opportunity for a student to learn, grow, and reach their potential. We thank the Mandela Fellows for spending time with us and helping move our mission forward!
