Quarter Million Book Shipment to Zimbabwe Helps Set Record at BFA

Books For Africa is proud to announce that with today's shipment of three containers of books to the Zambezi Schoolbook Project in Zimbabwe, we have met and exceeded our book shipping goal for FY 20! Over 250,000 books left our Atlanta warehouse today in these three containers. This puts BFA shipments for FY 20 at over 3.7 million books, exceeding our goal of 3.6 million books for the year and dramatically exceeding last year's record-setting total of 3.3 million books.

BFA Warehouse staff packed up the Zambezi shipment while using safe practices during the Covid-19 pandemic! L to R: Adetokunbo Awosanya, Brad Mattson, (front) Ralph Pitts, (back) Bruce Travis, Jen Hale, Scott Hale

It is notable that the new record for books shipped was achieved in spite of the Coronavirus pandemic, which has substantially slowed BFA shipping activities. Today's shipment to Zimbabwe was sponsored by donated humanitarian shipping assistance under the United States Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Program, as well as from friends of the Zambezi Schoolbook Project in the U.S. and Zimbabwe. Thank you everyone for making this happen!
