Support the delivery of educational books to the Onesimos Nesib Library in Hurumu, Oromia, Ethiopia. Books can change lives, but only when they reach the hands of those eager to learn.
This effort is inspired by the legacy of Onesimos Nesib, a son of Hurumu and one of the most influential intellectual figures in Oromo history. Born in the mid-1800s, Onesimos endured unimaginable hardship. He was taken from his home as a child and sold into slavery. Yet through resilience, faith, and determination, he rose to become a pioneering scholar, educator, and translator.
He returned to his people with a powerful vision. He translated the Bible into Afaan Oromo, making knowledge accessible in the language of the people for the first time. His work laid the foundation for Oromo literacy and continues to inspire generations to learn, read, and think in their own language.
Onesimos believed that education should be accessible, meaningful, and rooted in community. He helped establish schools and devoted his life to teaching and empowering others.
Today, the Onesimos Nesib Library in Hurumu carries forward that legacy. Built through a local initiative in cooperation with Mattu University, the library serves as an important learning space for students, teachers, and community members who are eager for knowledge and opportunity.

We are raising funds to cover the shipping costs needed to send educational books from the United States to this library.
This container will support the need for:

Your contribution does more than move books. It carries forward a legacy. It strengthens access to education. It helps place knowledge into the hands of those who are ready to learn.
