The Book Reach Campaign/SAVWIN (Miyausa Wayuta Mshelia) - Nigeria

Project Goal: $14,000

Current Progress: $1,000 (7.00%)

The education system in the northeastern states of Nigeria has greatly been destabilized  by the Boko Haram conflict, which has left many children out of schools and properties destroyed. This conflict has rendered more children disabled and with special needs. Boko Haram had a significant negative impact on education in northeastern Nigeria.  They have targeted schools, students and pupils, educators and educational institutions, resulting in destruction of school infrastructures and loss of lives.

Since the insurgents have been pushed back and schools have resumed, lots of these schools lack books and resources needed to teach these children. These books we applied for shall be used to set up libraries to 6 schools in the northeast of Nigeria where the attack by the insurgents had caused much havoc, where the children are really in need of it, namely Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Taraba States in Nigeria.  The books will mostly be sent to inclusive primary and secondary schools that have higher number of vulnerable students and pupils. Few others meant for undergraduates shall be given to vulnerable undergraduate students in the higher institution of learning.
