Fr. Andreas Amrhein Academy Library Project — Namibia

Project Goal: $17,350

Current Progress: $6,600 (38.00%)

The Fr. Andreas Amrhein Academy Library Project aims to establish a fully equipped school library at Fr. Andreas Amrhein Academy, a primary school located in Oshifo, Ruacana, northern Namibia. The project seeks to give students, teachers, and the broader community access to quality reading materials that nurture literacy, learning, and moral formation.

Founded and managed by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing, the school emphasizes holistic education grounded in faith, values, and service. The new library will serve as a hub for knowledge and community engagement, encouraging a love for reading and supporting lifelong education for all who visit.

The library building, located within the school compound, is a secure and spacious facility designed specifically for educational use. It will include bookshelves, tables, and a dedicated reading area for students and teachers, and is expected to be completed by December 2025. Once operational, the library will be managed by a dedicated librarian, who will work closely with teachers to organize the collection by subject and reading level, ensuring clear labeling and proper maintenance.

While the library will primarily serve Fr. Andreas Amrhein Academy’s students and teachers, it will also be open to neighboring schools and community members who wish to use the resources for study and personal enrichment, helping foster a culture of literacy and learning throughout the region.
