CHILD2CHILD BOOK FOUNDATION

Young Female Leaders Improving Literacy in West Africa

We are African American teenage leaders from Ghana and Nigeria who are taking active steps to improve access to reading books and textbooks in underprivileged communities in West Africa. Our passion is driven by our own lived experience in Lagos, Nigeria where we had to rely on family and friends to get access to a diverse range of leisure reading books from overseas. Our relocation to the United States has given us easier access to books so we are paying it forward.

To date, have shipped 100,000 books to school children across West Africa. We have also commissioned a full community library in Kukurantumi in Ghana. For our 4th container, we are raising $25,000 to reach children in Guinea, Conakry in summer of 2024. The recent explosion and fire at an oil deport has interrupted gas supplies and schools have been shut down for a 2nd time in less than a month. We are hopeful our books will bring the children joy, excitement, and motivation to continue their education.

We are yet to scratch the surface of the monumental task ahead of us. We would appreciate your partnership and donation on this impactful journey. Please check out pictures from our trip to Togo and Ghana in 2023.
