To send books to Africa, the largest expense by far is shipping. Currently, it costs $9,800 USD to ship a sea container of books to most major seaports in Africa, and even more to ship inland.
Books For Africa supplies the donated books for all shipments, but the African recipients or their financial supporters worldwide pay the shipping costs. Some African recipient organizations have few connections and little means of raising the money needed to ship a container.
Your donation will defray these high shipping costs and enable Books For Africa to ship even more books to people in Africa who are eager to read and learn.
