Young Female Leaders Improving Literacy in West Africa

We are African American teenage leaders from Ghana and Nigeria who are taking active steps to improve access to reading books and textbooks in underprivileged communities in West Africa. Our passion is driven by our own lived experience in Lagos, Nigeria where we had to rely on family and friends to get access to a diverse range of leisure reading books from overseas. Our relocation to the United States has given us easier access to books so we are paying it forward.

To date, have shipped and distributed 60,000 books to 20,000 school children across Ghana and Nigeria. We have also commissioned a full community library in Kukurantumi in Ghana. For our third container, we are raising $18,000 to reach more school children in Ghana and Togo in summer of 2023. We are yet to scratch the surface of the monumental task ahead of us. We would appreciate your partnership and donation on this impactful journey. Please check out our 2022 Ghana report and BBC Africa Interview.
