Better World Books

Books For Africa and Better World Books have established a strategic partnership. Since 2003, this partnership has resulted in over $754,000 in cash donations for BFA and tens of thousands of books donated for shipment to Africa. Better World Books collects donated books on 1,000 college campuses and hundreds of libraries across the United States and Canada. Better World Books is the largest single donor to Books For Africa, providing 50% of BFA’s cash budget annually. This partnership has continued to grow, with Better World Books shipping container loads of books from its Indiana warehouse directly to BFA partners in Africa and the BFA warehouse in St. Paul.

In addition, BFA is pleased to announce the creation of the Better World Books Fund of Books For AFrica through a special donation of $165,000. Since June of 2007, the Better World Books Fund has helped finance the delivery of 15 40-foot sea containers holding approximately 470,000 books valued at $2.6 Million. Containers have been shipped to Algeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe through the support of the Better World Books Fund.
